Trust – Heaven and Dressed For Space

Trust have been a bright light in an otherwise darkly dull musical year. Their latest single, Heaven is typical gloom and doom deliciously drenched in synths. We are also including their previously released single, Dressed For Space, which was our choice track from their debut album, Trst that came out earlier this year. For the uninitiated, Trust is the Canadian darkwave/synthpop duo, comprised of Robert Alfons and Maya Postepski. You may recognize Postepski who is also the drummer of Austra.

Trust – Sulk

Honestly, we didn’t expect that the setting for the official debut video from Toronto’s chilly electro goth outfit, Trust, would be set in a nightclub, nor did we expect it would feature badly dressed and not so dressed bikini-clad clubgoers, but it has and we will just assume the band and director are in on its irony. Regardless, the video doesn’t detract from the awesomeness of the song and isn’t that all that matters?

Trust – Sulk

We covered the frothy, gothy Toronto synthpop duo Trust before and their track Bulbform, and are happy to report that they are back with a new track, Sulk, which will be the lead single off their debut album, TRST, out next month. Made up of Austra drummer Maya Postepski and Robert Alfons, we can hear the Austra influences, but they create a hypnotic new sound. Its dark wavy synths and haunting melodies prove once and for all, the dead can dance.

Trust – Bulbform

January 9, 2012

It’s creepy and it’s kookey. Mysterious and spookey. Toronto’s Trust are a goth synth-pop duo made up of Robert Alfons and Maya Postepski (who also plays drums for Austra). They have just released a video for the sublime, Bulbform, and we are in love with the pounding beats and haunting melody. Expect their debut album to come out in February on Arts & Crafts.
