As much as we want to, we are just not feeling the new Tesla Boy single, Split, but we still love these blokes so here it is.
Tesla Boy were one of the very first bands we profiled here at bop2pop. Their album, Modern Thrills, was one of our favorite albums of 2010. A lot has happened in just a mere 2 years. After this track was included on a Kitsune Maison Compilation, their profile skyrocketed as witnessed by their new, sorta NSFW video for Fantasy , which has already garnered over 100,000 views in just a few days. Quite miraculous for a Russian synthpop band.
Our favorite Russian synth maestros, Tesla Boy are back with a new single, Fantasy. Although not as immediate and a bit lighter than the tracks off their brilliant 2010 album, Modern Thrills, Fantasy does not stray from their synthpop/nu-disco template. As always, the production is top notch and with each new release, we see their popularity growing by leaps and bounds. Expect greatness.
No sooner had Tesla Boy premiered In Your Eyes, that they bounce back with this hands-in-the-air stomper. Waste My Body is described as a “Christmas gift to fans” and sees Tesla Boy returning to the sounds on Modern Thrills that we have come to love. Is it just us, or is anyone else getting a slight Duran Duran vibe here?
In celebration of reaching a whopping 20,000 fans on their facebook page, Russian synthpoppers, Tesla Boy are making several remixes of their new single, In Your Eyes, available as free downloads. Of the free remixes, we are partial to Lipelis Remix, which transports us back to the club scene in the 90s. We are happy of their newfound success as Modern Thrills was one of our favorite albums last year and they are one of the first bands this blog covered.
Our favorite Russian synthpop act, Tesla Boy, are back with a new single, In Your Eyes, that is scheduled to appear on the forthcoming Kitsuné Maison compilation series. In Your Eyes slows things down a bit and is a pleasant ballad. The Satin Jackets Remix makes it club friendly for the after-hours set.
Russian?! Synthpop band, Tesla Boy released one of the best albums within its genre last year, and third single, Rebecca came out earlier this year. I am not a big fan of compiled concert videos (are you hearing me Goldfrapp and thrown together, Believer?), because it screams “copout” in terms of production and concept, but I am willing to overlook it since this is a band you probably haven’t heard of, but if you are a synthpop lover, and hey, you probably wouldn’t be here if you weren’t, is worth checking out.
And here is their remix of ultra icy cool Sally Shapiro, Miracle
