Saint Etienne: I’ve Got Your Music (Golden Filter Remix)

May 8, 2012

It is a partnership that could have only been made from the musical gods. Golden Filter has remixed I’ve Got Your Music, the latest single by the ultimate purveyors of polished pop perfection, Saint Etienne, and it is just as addictively funky and oh so slightly off-kiltered as we had imagined it would be, maybe even more some. The original will appear on the forthcoming Saint Etienne album, Words And Music, which will be their first album of all new material in nearly 7 years. We can’t wait!

Saint Etienne – Tonight (Video)

February 19, 2012

Saint Etienne has released a video for their new single, Tonight. In it, two young friends have a memorable night out in London, which of course involves seeing their favorite band perform. The video has some great night images of London, however, we would have liked to have seen more of the band (an all-to-common trend for bands that are over a certain age, which is a shame because these guys still look great!). When we finally do see Saint Etienne, it is through the eyes of our subjects, and unfortunately they were standing off to the side of the stage which means the shots of Sarah Cracknell are from her back or side (the image we grabbed is about the best you see of her). Video aside, we love the song and are excited about Saint Etienne’s return.

The 2 Bears – Work (Saint Etienne Remix)

January 30, 2012

To celebrate the release of their debut album, The 2 Bears have made available, as a guilt-free download, the Saint Etienne Remix of their single, Work. Saint Etienne slows things down a bit, making it less “work” and more “relax and chill”.

Saint Etienne – Tonight

January 24, 2012

Arguably one of the greatests pop acts of all-time, Saint Etienne are gearing up to release their 8th studio album (and first in 7 years). Words and Music comes out in May and in anticipation of the release they are making available, for a limited time, a guilt-free download of its first single, Tonight. It will be produced by Xenomania (Burnt Out Car) and feature mixing by Richard X (Method of Modern Love, Foxbase Beta). Judging from the upbeat 90s sound of m>Tonight we hope the rest of the album will continue this sound which is more like material released on To Young to Die and less like their album Sound of Water. Hurray!

To download this track, all you have to do is sign up on their website.
