We miss our girl! Roisin Murphy has not released an album since the critically lauded Overpowered in 2007! Since then, difficulties with her record label, motherhood, and overall dissatification with the music industry has derailed any attempts for a new album. This is not to say she has stayed completely out of the public eye. Roisin has occassionally self-released songs and has contributed vocals to other musician’s tracks, which Golden Era is the latest example. Here she is paired with House/DJ/Legend David Morales. Golden Era is a welcomed return in sound to her days with Moloko. Now if only we could have a new solo album.
Mason featuring Roisin Murphy – Boadicea
April 19, 2011Roisin Murphy is back, providing vocals to this newish track from Mason. Unfortunately, she appears briefly, and only as a photograph, in this hyper-violent, Guy Richie inspired music video that contains so much dialog and gun shots that it seriously distracts from the song itself and Roisin’s distinctive vocal stylings.
Roisin, who is the former lead singer of Moloko, has released a spattering of singles since her critically and commercially successful album, Overpowered, in 2007, but sadly, due to well-documented troubles with her record label, has yet to release a proper album since.
