Icona Pop – I Don’t Care

May 6, 2012

Icona Pop refuse to take heartbreak sitting down and are instead shouting mad and just a tad bit crazy in their new single, I Love It, a ferocious slice of female empowerment pop that is custom-fit for the dancefloor and which has all the makings of a summer anthem. Think Robyn mixed with Pink.

Icona Pop – Nights Like This

October 14, 2011

Icona Pop are Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo, two Swedish DJs that met by accident and generating a lot of buzz with their brand of electropop. Nights Like This is the second single off their new EP of the same name that has just been released. We previewed first single, Manners, here. This time out they are sounding like a poppier version of The Knife, which of course we love! We also love the video which plays like a 70s grindhouse drive-in movie, right down to the reel difficulties. It takes a lot of Chutzpah to take a break within your own video to grab a bite to eat, but hey, when you got the munchies, go for it. Be sure to stick around to the end for our favorite bit when a sudden turn of events detours this road trip onto the highway of hell. We likey.

Icona Pop – Manners

July 11, 2011

Swedish electro pop duo Icona Pop have finally released a video for Manners, which we first became aware of last March. The neon-tastic video, directed by Johannes Ring, seems inspired by the fashion show sequence in the cult 80s film, Liquid Sky. We love it here and find it insanely catchy. Icona Pop will release their debut EP in the fall.
