Annie – Tube Stops and Lonely Hearts

April 27, 2013

Annieubesocks

It has been a far too long 4 years! since we had last heard Annie, whose seemingly forever-delayed, brilliant Don’t Stop (in both incarnations since the album, scheduled to be released in 2008, was dropped by her label causing her to swap a few tracks and release it independently the following year). Tube Stops and Lonely Hearts is a shift for Annie, who like many other artists, are leaving the 80s behind to embrace more experimental 90s elements. We prefer this ode to 90s rave culture over club Little Boots, as it is more dark and forboding (and as the video demonstrates, what could be more menancing than a rooftop spin class!) while still retaining shreds of the Annie we love. And speaking of love, although the track may not be as catchy as Songs Remind Me of You, the title rocks!

The Toxic Avenger feat. Annie – Alien Summer

May 20, 2011

Yeah! Annie is providing vocals to yet another track this year. You may recall me raving about her collaboration earlier this year with Designer Drugs (if not, click here). This song, by The Toxic Avenger suits her better and is more attuned to the suger sweet Annie “sound” bop2pop has fallen in love with. Rumor of a new album keeps permeating, however, we have yet to hear anything with her exclusive name on it. Let’s hope she releases something soon.

Queen Of Hearts – FreeStyle

March 27, 2011

Starting with a Giorgio Moroder template and mixing icy hints of Annie and Goldfrapp, Freestyle, the debut single by Queen Of Hearts screams super hit. Nothing is known about this artist, other than a video teaser and full song stream. Are you salivating yet? This song has the potential of being this year’s Stuck On Repeat.

Here is the entire song stream

Designer Drugs Featuring Annie – Crazy For You

March 4, 2011

Call it Karma. In 2009, Designer Drugs remixed the single Antonio, by Annie, and now she has returned the favor and has provided vocals for a track off their debut album. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love Annie, so this will have to do until her next album comes out, which is rumored to have already started recording with the mega production team of Xenomania.

Listen to and download the Designer Drugs remix of Antonio
