Bop 2 Pop

The internet is buzzing today over a new song, video and hairstyle by British singer, Marina & The Diamonds. Fear & Loathing is the first installment of a two-part video series titled, Electra Heart, and Marina insists it will not be released as a single. Marina promises the final segment will be released next week. The video seems to be the consequences of earlier single, Hollywood, and explores feelings of alientation resulting from losing oneself while trying to please others for fame and materialism. But with darkness, Marina finds light, within herself, and begins cutting her hair as a way to symbolically cleanse herself from the self destructive behavior that isolated herself from others and herself. To paraphrase the 80’s hit by The Bangles, It’s Just Another Self-Reflective Monday.
