Last month, MGMT participated in LateNightTales, a music collaboration that asked artists to remake a favorite song in their personal musical collection to create an after the sun goes down complilation. MGMT’s contribution is All We Wanted Was Everything, a seminal track from the “goth” band Bauhaus. The amazing video, which features an animated, pop-up city, that unfolds through layers placed on top of layers (very Photoshop), was created by New Zealand-based animator, Ned Wenlock. In addition, the original Bauhaus track is finally, after nearly 30 years, getting a proper single release in anticipation of the LateNightTales album.
And in case you were wondering, here is the original version.
